Ranchi: A female student was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Hostel No. 9 of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra in Ranchi on Friday evening, September 18. The incident has caused concern among students and members of the institute community.
According to available reports, the deceased has been identified as Anjali Suman, a resident of Godda district. She reportedly returned from college on Friday evening and went to her hostel room. When she did not come out for a long time and also failed to appear during dinner, her friends became concerned.
The student was subsequently found hanging inside her room. Following the incident, information was given to the BIT Mesra police, who reached the hostel and began an investigation.
The police have started examining the circumstances surrounding the death. The exact reason behind the incident has not yet been established, and no definitive conclusion about the cause of death has been reported so far.
