Ranchi, September 26: An unusual incident at a liquor shop in the Ormanjhi area of Ranchi has attracted attention after a monkey reportedly entered the premises and drank alcohol from a bottle kept inside the shop. The incident caused panic among people present at the shop and nearby areas.
According to a local report, the monkey opened a liquor bottle and consumed some of its contents. Its behaviour reportedly became aggressive afterwards, during which it attacked and scratched a person, leaving him injured. A video related to the incident has also attracted attention on social media.
The available local report, however, does not confirm that the monkey later fell asleep. It specifically describes the animal becoming aggressive and injuring a person after drinking. Therefore, the “dozed off” part of the circulating description could not be independently verified from the available report.
