Patna: Police action has intensified in Bihar’s Jamui district after a video allegedly showing the harassment of two Class 10 students went viral on social media. According to police, the incident took place on the evening of September 19, when the two minors were returning after attending coaching classes. A group of youths allegedly stopped their scooter, surrounded them and behaved inappropriately with the girl. The boy reportedly objected and was also assaulted during the incident. Parts of the episode were recorded on a mobile phone and later circulated online.
After the videos surfaced, Jamui Police traced the two students, recorded their statements and registered an FIR. Three accused have been arrested, while investigators are examining the role of others seen in the footage. Police are also verifying the authenticity of the videos, the location of the incident and other available evidence.
Officials have said further legal action will follow based on the investigation and evidence collected. Since both victims are minors, their identities have not been disclosed. The incident has triggered widespread concern and reactions on social media, with calls for strict action against those found responsible.
