Gujarat, September 22: President Droupadi Murmu will present the 72nd National Film Awards at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, today, honouring outstanding achievements in Indian cinema for the year 2024. The ceremony is being held outside Delhi for the first time, with the government planning to take future editions to different states and cities across the country.

The 72nd National Film Awards recognise creative and technical achievements across several areas of Indian filmmaking, including feature films, non-feature films and writing on cinema. The winners for the 2024 awards were announced on July 18, 2026, following the recommendations of the respective juries.
